Our high-quality cashmere knitwear is completely fully-fashioned produced. That means that the garment is knitted on reductions and there is no waste from cut and sew. Consequently, the production is close to zero waste

Fabric

The heirloom cardigan is made of 100% cashmere and has a high eco / recycled content. We use a 2-ply yarn meaning it is knitted more tightly, therefore being softer and warmer, ensuring a high quality, luxurious feel, yet being sustainably made, perfect to be worn all-year round. The cardigan will feel even softer the more you wear it.

JAKOB uses “Made in Prato” eco cashmere yarn. We believe that when you set out to create something new you should always aim for the best. This approach is not only reflected in the design, the knitting quality but also the choice of eco yarn. Each of us throws away on average between 33-80 pounds of used clothes a year, fibres of cashmere are often still usable and in good condition. JAKOB‘s partner mill in Italy manually selects the best of cashmere waste and mix them with high quality virgin cashmere fibres thus creating extremely luxurious yarns combining quality with sustainability, environment protection and CO2 saving.

Customers who have tried the cardigan before attest that the eco yarn is also less prone to pilling, possibly so as it already pilled in its previous life.

Cool iron. We recommend steaming with a steam iron for the best and safest finish and to avoid crushing or flattening the natural pile of the yarns and pull out of shape
Gentle dry cleaning only. We recommend using eco friendly dry cleaners where possible. To freshen between wearings, you can use a specific Cashmere Spray like from Cashmere & Cotton which also helps to repel bugs and moths.

AUSTRALIA customers: Shipment to Australia are exempt from duties up to A$1,000 ("de minimis").
